Big fish in there, Stripers Crappie, Bass, but like most places you only go once in blue-moon it's hard to catch fish on demand. It could be a fishing trip of a lifetime if you could find a guide or somebody local to put you on fish when they are biting. It's a beautiful place. Some of the Lake Marion guides will take you up to the lower section. There are gar and mudfish in all the little sloughs and oxbows you won't need a guide for that.

Striper run and Catfish will heat-up soon and run through May.
You have to be careful about the new regs on the Stripers

If you want to try some swamp bass fishing with a guide, you can travel a little farther and fish sparkleberry swamp with Inky Davis.
I think he has all the fish named.

My best advice. Bring your GPS and file a float plan (Tell somebody where you are going and when you expect to be back)

Doesn't hurt to post one here either and tell a family member in case somebody has to come get you.
