Whelchel in Gaffney? If so I stopped fishing there because paying to fish it just doesn't make sense to me.

I haven't been to the river in months because of all the rain. Its been above full pool so much lately I figure its not worth the ride. I haven't heard from anybody thats been down there either, pretty much for the same reason.

Here's something I learned by accident years ago. I don't know either of those two lakes but, from now until around late march- Let the water clear up a little, pick a calm day between cold fronts. Find a couple little feeder creeks into those lakes. Rig two sizes of dark color tube grubs,(pumpkinseed or black is good) One for panfish and one for bass. Go as far up those feeder creeks as you can pitching around the brush. I mean go upstream as far as you can go. Until you could almost jump across the creek. Hang on and let me know how what happens!

Post some pics too! I want to see me some big giant, square looking, creek bass. This time of year they'll be big, square looking, washed out, pale fish with a dark black, unbroken lateral line stripe with yellow eyes and pinkish warts under there jaw (on the big ones). How's that to get you going?
