My best tip is this: You only have so many days in your lifetime to fish and you don't know how many.

Alltime favorite bass lure I guess would be a Zara spook. Alltime most productive for me - Plastic worm in all its many forms and presentations.

864 I didn't know you were really looking for advice. If you're a beginner and cost conscious: Get yourself a handful of spinnerbaits, (Doublebladed wire lure with a rubber skirt) and a couple buzzbaits.
(Topwater version of the same thing.)

Try your favorite spots. There isn't realy a wrong way to fish these. Fish close to or over cover and vary your retrieve until you get a bite.

Post Pictures! Zara Spooks are about $5 these days and take a little practice.

Like bronco said, get some spinnerbaits. You can't go wrong. The two biggest bass that I have caught came off of a Booyah and a Strike King spinner. This time of year, I did better with a slow retrieve. But, you should, as mentioned above, vary the retrieve and find what is working.....
