I think 30 minutes from start to finish for the road trip tournaments isn't asking to much. Every one doesn't know all of the landings or how long it takes to go from one to the other. I mean I tried to call without any results. At&t has crap for service past Saluda. I thought this was a family club. I must not be in "THE" family. I know of some past tounaments where people have weighed in after last call. Just ask fogman about Dale Welch. I know of other tournaments where rules violations occured and it was sweept under the rug by the pres at the time. I just want a fair shake. I follow the rules, participate in tournaments, support the club financially, support our sponsors, and get turned back at the scales at an out of town tourny. That's BS and not fair in MY opinion. I haddproplems with my bilge pump. It quit working and my boat wouldn't planw out and go faster than 15 mph. That's why O was a little late. When I got to the ramp Donnie Christopher was just leaving. So why can't I get to weigh in????
If we kill the 18" fish, would some of them have survived the summer and grown to 21"+ fish someday?I don't fish these tournaments because I can't my my lazy butt out of bed but it sounds like we could be hurting the fishery if we change the rules.
Fishing other lakes like Clarks Hill or Hartwell is entirely different than fishing Murray. On Clarks Hill the fish are heavily influenced by pump back and release of the Russel Dam. Just my opinion here but many club members only know how to fish Murray. A lot of SBCC teams pre-fish for days in advance and have fished all these other lakes for years and thus have lots of notes built up. Even still Clarks Hill can be very tough at times for anyone. I've seen SBCC teams be on 20+lb fish on Friday and get skunked on Sat. I wouldn't take 1 tournament and use that to say its not good to go there. You may catch numbers on Murray but you will always catch more lbs on Hartwell or Clarks Hill. I heard of a guy going out on Hartwell last week and catching 4 fish 25lbs and up!!! Try that on Murray...
